Disaster struck today as Boom Radio’s David Hamilton was taken off air by his local farmer. Living in West Sussex, David broadcasts his Boom Radio Show from home – that is until his local farmer cut through the all-important fibre broadband, leaving him with no connection to the hundreds of thousand listeners.
At 83 years David is Britain’s oldest National DJ – and ever resourceful. Realising a repair wouldn’t come in time for his 12 – 14.00 show – he leaped into his Range Rover and sped across county lines to the next county where he set up studio in a friend’s house. As David says “nothing stops good radio – and my listeners deserve the best – despite irritating irrigation!”
