Former SNP spokesman comments on today’s announcement and predicts a Zombie Government in Scotland is on the cards until 2026!

Lt. Col. Stuart Crawford, a former SNP Defence Spokesperson said today, 25th April, 2024, “In possibly his first and only positive action of his entire period in office to date, Scotland’s First Minister Humza Yousaf has terminated the Bute House Agreement between the SNP and the Scottish Greens, thereby ending the coalition government in Edinburgh.

The Greens have been often called “the watermelons”, green on the outside, red on the inside, Marxists masquerading as environmentalists. Greens cabinet ministers Patrick Harvie and Lorna Slater have been sent back to the political wilderness where they clearly belong. They had become a millstone around Yousaf’s neck and had to go, pushed before they had the opportunity to resign. Few tears will be shed among the wider electorate. Yousaf and the SNP will continue to govern as a minority administration until the next Holyrood election in 2026.

It will mean the SNP’s programme for government might be more difficult to deliver, but the Greens  haven’ taken it well. “Scottish Greens co-leader Lorna Slater has just confirmed the end of the Bute House agreement and accused the SNP of “selling out future generations”. She said: “This is an act of political cowardice by the SNP, who are selling out future generations to appease the most reactionary forces in the country.  She said that the first minister ended the agreement in “such a weak and thoroughly hopeless way” which “signalled that when it comes to political co-operation, he can no longer be trusted.”

So – the future for a Zombie Government in Scotland is on the cards until 2026.”
