Dark days’ light

When you look at the sky on a winter’s day, I wonder what you see?

Just grey clouds scudding, nothing more? Well that’s not true for me!

Look more closely. Just take time and open up your heart

For, now and then, the clouds will shift and slowly break apart

The grey will lift, and through the gloom a sunbeam will appear

A shaft of light just shining down From Paradise to here

I like to think it is our Lord Just sending warmth and love

To a weary soul in need of help and comfort from above

We struggle through adversity Our friends we don’t depress

But just sometimes we really need our burden to be less

That shaft of light, seen from afar in me brings calm and peace

Our God, He loves us. I know His love will never cease
