Make the Rest the Best

We are none of us too old or too young to help ourselves to better health. Every day whether we like it or not we all get that little bit older. Ageing is inevitable – or is it? Although we have no control over our destined life span – the quantity of our life – we do have control over the quality of our lives.

Fit For Summer

Summer is coming but how worried are you about exposing flabby thighs or midriff bulge? Too much sitting around during the winter months results in slack abdominal muscles, and general lack of body tone. Long periods in front of a computer screen or TV can result in stiff joints and tension headaches. Working, worrying and being inactive is bad for the heart and circulation and if you sit with your legs crossed for long varicose veins may appear or be made worse. So give yourself a break, get up and literally take a breather – shape up your body, re-oxygenate your system, and improve your circulation and digestion.

Eat To Stay Young

As part of a balanced diet, these are the food groups that work hardest to preserve healthy skin and bones, boost immunity and fight disease. Eat them raw in summer salads or lightly steamed to get the maximum power from your nutrients and lose weight too.

Wind Down And Chill Out

It’s time to wind down and chill out because make no mistake, stress is ageing. Clenched muscles restrict circulation, inhibit breathing and suppress the body’s immune system making it more vulnerable to disease. Plus, a stressed face looks older! Fight it by finding space in each day to dedicate to quiet time. I do this simple meditation to relax and refresh both my body and mind.

Healthy Retirement

So you have finally retired and are looking forward to the years ahead enjoying the fruits of your labour. Well now is a good opportunity to think about yourself, your health in particular and a time to review your habits. Your lifestyle will probably now change dramatically and you may need to make a few adjustments in order to maintain good health and enjoy the increase in life expectancy.
